Windows
You can use windows to effectivley absorb heat into your home during the cooler months by opening curtains and blinds to allow sunlight to stream in from the north and west. In summer you can use awnings to keep sunlight from making contact with the glass and use blinds to minimise heat transmission into the rooms. In winter close blinds to prevent heat loss through the glass.
If you are replacing windows consider double-glazed tints, as these have an air-gap that reduces heat transmission considerably. You can also select special thermally efficient glass or apply flims that reflect heat and reduce heat transfer.
