Framed floors (those with timber, particleboard or plywwod floors) are quite thin and can quickly transfer heat as well as leak air through gaps in floorboards.

We can fix ceiling or wall insulation batts under the floor by stapling a "web" of cord under the batts to hold them in position. This is another spot to consider combining acoustic insulation to reduse noise. It's easiest to install on the ground flooor (where there is no ceiling under the floor) but it can also be installed under other floors if the ceiling lining is removed.
